WRAP Nursery Key Policies.

Parents and carers are welcome to view the nursery’s policies and procedures, which explain how the nursery operates and supports children, families, and staff.

Copies of all policies are available at the nursery upon request from the Nursery Manager;

At WRAP we work with children, parents, external agencies and the community to ensure the welfare and safety of children and to give them the very best start in life. Children have the right to be treated with respect, be helped to thrive and to be safe from abuse in any form.

Link to Safeguarding Policy

At WRAP, we provide high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 6 months to 5 years in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. The numbers and ages of children admitted to the nursery comply with the legal space and staffing requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). When considering admissions, we are mindful of staff to child ratios and the facilities available at the nursery.

Link to Complaints & Compliments Policy

At WRAP we believe that parents are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt, careful attention to their individual needs and wishes. We hope that at all times parents are happy with the service provided and we encourage parents to voice their appreciation to the staff concerned.

We have a formal procedure for dealing with complaints where we are not able to resolve a concern. Any complaints relating to safeguarding or child protection will be dealt with in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and may be referred to external agencies where appropriate.

At WRAP we recognise that SEND practice continues to develop. We follow the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and current statutory guidance, and we are committed to keeping our practice in line with emerging good practice. This includes a strong focus on early identification of needs, inclusive everyday practice, and recognising that children develop and communicate in different ways

Link to Inclusion and Equality Policy

At WRAP we take great care to treat each individual as a person in their own right, with equal rights and responsibilities to any other individual, whether they are an adult or a child. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and families according to their individual needs. Discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, race, religion or belief, marriage or civil partnership, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, ethnic or national origin, or political belief has no place within our nursery.

At WRAP we provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees and a safe early learning environment in which children learn and are cared for. To develop and promote a strong health and safety culture within the nursery for the benefit of all staff, children and parents, we provide information, training and supervision. We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.
